We're Hiring: Full-Time Lecturer in Software Engineering at Kirirom Institute of Technology

We are hiring for the position of Full-Time Lecturer in Software Engineering, reporting to the Head of Academic and Vice President of Academic. This role offers a very competitive monthly salary and is based at our eco-campus in Kirirom National Park, Kampong Speu, Cambodia. We are looking to fill 2 positions, open to both male and female candidates.

The position is within the Software Engineering Department under the Bachelor’s Program, with a focus on Full Stack Development, Web Application Development, and Smartphone Application Development. Candidates are required to hold a Master’s degree and have relevant industry experience in the field.

Specialization of Software Engineering

We are particularly interested in candidates with specialization in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning & Deep Learning), Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Hardware and Networking, Programming (R, Python, Java), App Development (Web and Mobile) & Full Stack Development, UI/UX Design, Fintech (Financial Technology), Risk and Project Management, as well as Decision Making and Product Development.

Job Description

KIT needs Full-time Lecturers to provide strong academic leadership based on their experience in both the academic field and the industry. He/ She is required to lead, manage, and develop the study program to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities. He /She is also required to exercise leadership, demonstrate vision, and empower other faculty members and academic staff to deliver the agreed departmental strategy within KIT.

Required Qualifications 

• Master’s degree in the related fields from a reputable university

• Outstanding and verifiable teaching and industry experience

• Outstanding research and publications record in SCOPUS indexed journals

• Adequate experience in supervising student projects and thesis papers

• Excellent record in community service.

Minimum Requirements

• Able to communicate effectively in the English language with particular care to cultural awareness and sensitivity

• Above average ability to conduct interactive, engaging, and collaborative classes going beyond the traditional norm in either face to face, synchronous and asynchronous methods

• Exceptional ability to assess and monitor students’ progress with empathy. Must be aware of different forms of intelligences and means of assessments

• Can work independently or with a team in a diverse environment

• Accountability, responsibility, ownership and alignment with KIT’s Mission and Vision.

Knowledge and Skills of Software Engineering

Candidates should possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while managing multiple responsibilities. Effective communication and presentation skills in English, along with strong interpersonal abilities, are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate leadership, problem-solving capabilities, teamwork, and a well-developed sense of organization.
